On Location Shots was officially opened for business in February 2011. However, this was only a milestone in a journey that has lasted for more than a decade. The founders of OLS began their careers in photography, film, and design thousands of miles apart in the later years of the 90s. Tamar Martinez earned his degree in graphic design and photography in Mazatlan Mexico, while Robert de Anda was founding and building Dynamic Alliance, a website design firm in Los Angeles.
The two met in L.A. in 2004 and quickly began to share their knowledge of composition and exposure while still working with film cameras. While most of the shooting sessions back then were simply for fun and learning, they collaborated on a few commercial projects. They lost touch for a number of years, only to be reunited again in 2010. Tamar had since then earned an additional degree in Digital Media, while Robert had compiled an extensive catalog of images for L.A. Scenes.
Realizing that the creative spark was still there, they joined forces as a professional partnership to build Vista Visual Concepts, a design and programming agency. As the number of photography and film assignments increased, they decided to focus on what they did best...."capturing the moment".
